Tom Hanks had been labeled as a degrading, tempermental, and vindictive human being by his ex-wife, Susan Dillingham (stage name Samantha Lewis), which led her to charge him with harassment and believed he had the desire to end her acting career. Although she died from bone cancer in 2002, David Gardner is unearthing this news in his biograhpy, “The Tom Hanks Enigma.” Page Six reports,

“My husband has repeatedly verbally abused and humiliated me during the past 90 days in my home. This caused me to suffer great emotional distress,” Dillingham wrote an L.A. court in asking for a restraining order against Hanks.

Hanks shot back in his own legal filing, alleging that Dillingham was delaying a divorce trial “merely to harass me and try to squeeze an unfair settlement out of me.”

David Gardner is causing controversy where it isn’t necessarily needed. This sounds like the typical argument amongst a former married couple. It is shown in movies, books, and seen regularly on Judge Judy. I think David Gardner’s desire to cause controversy and label one of Hollywood’s most liked men as disrespectful is not going to be successful.

Tom Cruise is also a master of publicity. He will do anything for attention, probably stemming from the fact that the only attention his father gave him was a swift smack to the back of the head or face. Tom Hanks is truly a genious. Cast Away was Tom Hanks stuck on an island the whole movie and there was never a dull moment. Whereas, [tag]Collin Farrell[/tag] was stuck in a phonebooth for two hours in Phonebooth and that movie sucked.
