Matthew McConaughey, loving father, finally decides what to do to commemorate the birth of his son: plant a tree…a placenta tree.

“It’s going to be in the orchards and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit,” he says, according to an interview transcript. “When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river … and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.

It’s nice that McConaughey is finally picking up a new, healthy hobby for his creepy guy tendencies. Scraping up placenta from hospital dumpsters and throwing it on trees…just like the aborigines. I bet if he looked farther into that culture, he might have discovered that that tree came to life every twenty years hungry, and in order to quench its insatiable appetite, they actually had to feed to it the children they’ve made him take a liking to. All the while, they sing and lament about the woes of being a Jewis…Aboriginal flower store keeper. That’s just something to think about.

For those of us that didn’t know, Matthew McConaughey doesn’t use deodorant.

While on the set of their latest joint outing, next week’s Fool’s Gold (they also co-starred in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days back in 2003), the actress begged the shirtless one to scrap his long-standing anti-deodorant policy.

“She always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, ‘Would you please put this on?’” he was quoted by Contactmusic.com. “I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant.”

And he hasn’t worn it for over 20 years. Though he has insisted that the ladies dig it (once saying, “The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, ‘Hey, your natural smell smells, one, like a man, and, two, smells like you.’”

There’s nothing like walking down the street and passing by someone who doesn’t wear deodorant.   You pass a group of people and a few seconds later you are punched in the face with the most vile smell on the planet.  Then you look back to see who it was and you can never tell.  It’s the perfect crime.

Matthew McConaughey may have obsessive compulsive disorder. He has been spotted on several seperate occasions brushing his teeth in extra-ordinary places ultimately displaying his outlandish need to clean his teeth. According to Wikipedia,

Obsessions are defined by:

1. Recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced, at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress.
2. The thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems.
3. The person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action.
4. The person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind.

Compulsions are defined by:

1. Repetitive behaviors or mental acts that the person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession, or according to rules that must be applied rigidly.
2. The behaviors or mental acts are aimed at preventing or reducing distress or preventing some dreaded event or situation; however, these behaviors or mental acts either are not connected in a realistic way with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent or are clearly excessive.

Almost in all instances, Matthew was spotted using a toothbrush. I could understand an infatuation with not having bad breath, but come on… who actually NEEDS to brush their teeth while at a red light? While running? The last time I checked, international celebrities could afford running water. Just do it in the bathroom or carry some Listerine, or use Oral B Brush Ups!

[tag]Matthew McConaughey[/tag] was driving through Sherman Oaks, California when he encountered a group of kids who covered a cat in hair spray and were in the process of trying to light the cat on fire. He stopped his car, confronted the kids, took the hairspray and dropped the cat off at an animal shelter. A pal of Matthews said, “He was so angry he went on about it for days afterwards.”

Lighting hair spray isn’t that complicated. Thankfully lighters have child safeties on them. On a much more important note, lighters and hair spray cans are dangerous. I still can’t grow hair on the right side of my face.
