Joaquin Pheonix has us all fooled, or so an insider says.  Claiming he was retiring from his acting career for something a little more musical, it’s now being spread around that this is nothing but a hilarious stunt.

That’s what Entertainment Weekly is reporting. Sources tell the magazine’s Hollywood Insider blog that Phoenix’s bizarre career change, which Casey Affleck (who’s married to Phoenix’s sister Summer) has been filming, is a joke at the expense of the entertainment media and actors who take themselves too seriously.

“He said, ‘It’s a put-on. I’m going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it,’” says one source who recently worked with Phoenix.

All I can say is, all that hard work takes hard work, power, and balls… all powered by an amazing and well respected jerk.  My hero.

An Eva Mendes sex scene? Perfect!

Eva Mendes, who is currently filming her new movie “We Own the Night,” is set to have an on-screen sex scene with Joaquin Phoenix. Despite appearing naked in several magazines, Eva was unable to muster the courage to film the sex scene without a little help from Vodka and Orange Juice. According to the Chronicle, Eva said,

“I’m very professional and I don’t usually drink on the job, but that morning I had to have something. It was my first sex scene and thank God James Gray was directing it. He did it at the end of the shoot, so it was the last day and I was really, really comfortable with James and Joaquin.”

One would think that looking as hot as Eva Mendes, would naturally go hand in hand with being extremely confident, but from my experience with beautiful women – I subscribe to Maxim, it usually isn’t the case and above is the proof.
