R.I.P. Brittany Murphy

1977 – 2009.

Talk about a shocker: Brittany Murphy died yesterday.

According to TMZ, Brittany went into full cardiac arrest yesterday morning. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

The LAPD has launched a death investigation.

Brittany had an impressive list of credits, from Mean Girls to 8 Mile to Girl, Interrupted to voice work for King of the Hill. It looked like she was struggling in the last few years, but I’d hoped she would pull herself together. She had a career resurrection planned, with five pictures scheduled for release in 2010.

Here she was at the 2002 VMAs, when she was still going strong.
