Lionel Richie comes to Nicole Richie’s defense

Nicole Richie, who is set to go to court on July 11th for her pending DUI case, may not have the support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, but at least she has her father, Lionel Richie. According to the Chronicle, Lionel Richie said,

“She keeps apologizing to me. I told her ‘You’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing to your father at this age.”

“There’s just so much information out there right now — MySpace, cell phones, the Internet. If we had had all that when The Commodores were around, God only knows what my mother and father would have seen.”

And, it’s only going to get worse. MySpace? That’s primitive. With sites like Justin.tv popping up, everyone’s life is going to be broadcast over the internet. Screw what celebrities did over the weekend, I see her in the shower right now!
