Why would a talented band taint their album cover with a talentless ex-con? The song has nothing to do with sex tapes, prison, or Blackberries. It just doesn’t fit. [source]

i actually remember the smashing pumpkins when they were a phenomenal ground breaking rock band…and i’m sure the majority of you havent even heard the name until you saw this page and wanted to talk shit on paris.

Smashing Pumpkins are talentless?Ask any real musician whether or not the pumpkins have talent, and they would most certainly agree that they are far ahead of their time.The Pumpkins wouldnt appreciate the people buying their album that weren’t intelligent enough to see the real meaning of the picture. The Smashing Pumpkins are exceedingly clever and this single cover illustrates the point admirably, as pointed out by the more intelligent posters in this thread. Another example would be the name itself. Apparently a band member overheard some randy pommy guy commenting on a well-endowed girl’s “Smashing Pumpkins”; and so the name was born. Nothing to do with pumpkins the vegetable, or smashing. Pure genius.
