If a case like this doesn't go to trial, then they hurt someone's reputation; if a case like this does go to trial, then they may prejudice a jury and -- yes -- potential judges, too, and may even have put pressue on the D.A.'s office to "do something." If this information is not REQUIRED to be released to the press -- and I'd be interested in seeing the statutes(s) so requiring -- then it SHOULDN'T be. Is this appropriate, to reveal to the press sensitive and potentially prejudicial information such as this is? I’m furious that the police would blab about this.
