Virginia Tech Massacre Claims at Least 31 Victims

Early this morning, a gunman fired at innocent Virginia Tech college students in class and in the dormitory. As of 2:30pm, at least 31 students have been murdered. At this time, it is believed that the gunman was an Asian student, but his name was not released. According to MSNBC,

FBI spokesman Richard Kolko in Washington said there was no immediate evidence to suggest it was a terrorist attack, “but all avenues will be explored.”

NBC’s Pete Williams said two law enforcement officials told him the gunman killed himself. They also said the gunman used a 9-mm handgun and a .22-caliber pistol during the rampage, Williams reported. He said the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was trying to track the weapons.

In addition, as reported on Ninjadude, a poster on Something Awful forums writes about his exchange with his brother who attends Virginia Tech.

Also, MSNBC news was able to contact a young woman who attends Virginia Tech to ask her opinion as to how this gunfire started. Although at this point there is no fact proving any of these rumors, at least one student believe this started as an argument between a boyfriend and a girlfriend that was taken too far. Supposedly, a couple began arguing, but when the RA came out to stop the argument, the boyfriend shot both his girlfriend and the RA.

Although this isn’t celebrity related, I felt as if everyone should be able to take a minute to honor these tragic events that is now deemed the worst school shooting in history of the United States. It is extremely unfortunate that the murderer was able to claim as many victims as he did and I am really just at a loss of words for the whole incident.
