Britney Spears and ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, are set to re-record the Marvin Gaye duet, “You’re All I need to Get By.” Although Spears and Timberlake were ex-lovers, Justin is willing to help Britney pull her life together now that she has finally graduated from rehab. According to the Chronicle,
“Britney was extremely touched that Justin had been in contact. Going into the studio is Justin’s way of helping her get better.”
Having an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend pick up the broken pieces after 4 years of not being together is plain pathetic. However, one can still think that Britney is preparing the come-back of the century… What goes on behind closed doors in the celebrity gossip world is unknown to me, but it all seems too convenient.
In addition to the latest news with Britney’s singing career, she was reportedly rushed to the hospital. Celebrity gossip blogs immediately started creating buzz that Britney relapsed and went on a drinking binge, but that isn’t the case. According to National Ledger, Larry Rudolph issued a statement to That Other Blog,
“They’re all wrong, she just went to the dentist. She had a toothache, I have no more details.”
Toothe-aches are no-joke. A bad tooth-ache will make even the strongest men reach for a plyers to remove their own teeth. True statement.

I am so sure that marvin Gaye is rolling over in his grave because of this. I know she is getting a “free pass” because of her recent re-hab stint; but has everyone forgot that she CANNOT actually sing. Loving her for her singing is like loving Chinifer Maniston for her acting ability or Jessica Simpson for smarts.
i think it is nice of justin to even attempt to help her and even care at this point and i hope everything turns out ok for her
It does seem like a nice gesture on his part, to help her get back on her feet… and I am glad to see her making her way back up from rock bottom.. but for the love of Christ, PLEASE leave Marvin Gaye’s music alone. There are some classics out there that just should NOT be touched, unless by someone who has considerable vocal talent. Not someone who has built their entire career on being more so an entertainer than anything else, and having mediocre singing abilities AT BEST.
My God I can already picture in my head her pathetic attempt at mimicking Tammi Terrell’s performance. It would be nothing short of blasphemy.
I wish her good luck for the future, but if they do decide to go ahead with remaking this particular song, I hope the record is nothing short of a complete and utter flop.

Justin was in the news just the other day when someone asked him why he didn’t help Britney. His reply was that Britney is an EXgirlfriend and that he has nothing to do with her anymore. Story went on to explain that Britney was leaving as many as 20 messages an hour for him during her last disasterous tour and he had to change his phone number and take measures to keep the new number from her. Don’t think he’ll be involved unless it will benefit his career.
This is ludicrous…I don’t understand why pop singers are trying to sing R&B…Marvin Gaye’s family should really be slapped for allowing this to go on, I wish that singers would stop REMAKING original artists music…REMAKES never come out right, they are often extremely horrible and the singers can’t sing at the caliber of the original singers…we should put a website called STOPSONGREMAKES.COM!
