ok, for real – its staged. I know, youre probably thinking ‘who would stage something like this’, its hollywood, its ‘all eyes on me’, its all ego. theres no such thing as bad press. Clearly its working, just the fact we are able to sit at home and feel the need to comment – I admit, as I am doing myself – just goes to re-enforce the notion.
People who *dont* watch american idol know who she is now, shes a rating draw regardless of if the photos are real or not. She is becoming a household name, if even as a flash in the pan.
In the end, does it *really* matter if she did take the photos? Does it really matter if she was the target of some malicious campaign against her? Not when you relate it to the purpose of her appearing on national television, not when the purpose was for ‘america to decide’ who will get the record deal.
There are many others who preceded her who did in fact have true singing ability, and although they were removed, or not selected through the show as ‘the winner’, they went on to continue their musical endeavours.
The point is, if she can sing – and I really dont have much of an opinion in that regard one way or another – then really, its her singing ability and presentation which should stand on its own merits.
For people to be sucked into this trivial debate is the truely sad thing in all of this.
