Gisele Bundchen on Anorexia: Blame the Family, Not the Industry

Gisele Bundchen, after proclaiming how she has never had any problems with eating disorders, blames the families of anorexic super models because it is their job to keep an eye on their children / relatives. According to the Chronicle,

Gisele told Brazil’s Globo newspaper: “I never suffered from this problem because I had a very strong family base. The parents are responsible, not fashion.

“Everybody knows the standard for models is to be thin, but you can’t generalise and say that all models are anorexic.”

Blame the parents for everything. Murder? My mom never hugged me. Rape? My mom never breastfed me. Anti-social egomaniac? My parents hit me. Unfortunately, in the case of Anorexia, it is most definitely the industy’s fault. Until they stop parading 95 pound women on the catwalks and in pictures, little girls are going to stuff their bra and starve themselves.
