Britney Spears’s libel lawsuit against US Magazine was thrown out by judge Lisa Hart Cole. Although US Magazine claimed there was a racy video of Kevin Federline and Britney Spears, which may have been false, the judge ruled it was insignificant. According to the Chronicle

But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa Hart Cole dismissed the $10 million (£5.5 million) damages claim, ruling the singer’s raunchy reputation was in place before the article.

She said, “It is clear that plaintiff did not bring this lawsuit because she was falsely accused of acting goofy.

“The issue is whether it is defamatory to state that a husband and wife taped themselves engaging in consensual sex.”

She concluded, “(Spears) put her modern sexuality squarely, and profitably, before the public eye”, citing racy scenes in her 2005 Britney & Kevin: Chaotic as evidence.

Since she lost the lawsuit… Kevin’s CD has put food on the table. It acts as a great cutting utensil after it is snapped in half, but I’m sure its poisoning me somehow. It just works too well.
