Pete Doherty drinks a bottle of Mr. Clean

Pete Doherty, who recently was released from rehab after being treated for drug addiction, has finally vowed to stay clean for his love, Kate Moss. Although there are still skeptics, according to The Mirror, Pete said,

“My new addiction is rehab.”

“I’m going to do it for the lads and for Kate. We’ve been though a lot together, everyone has stood by me during my darkest moments.”

“It was torture for them, I know, they could have gone off and formed another band but they stuck with me. It’s payback time now. I have to stay clean for the band and the fans.”

“Any available time off I have I’ll go back to The Priory to see my doctors and the other residents, some of whom have become my friends. At the moment I’m trying my best to keep away from other junkies and situations where there’s a lot of drugs.”

We live in a world where “It’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you” (Batman Begins). Although he may be on the one-way track to becoming and remaining clean, he still painted pictures with blood, squirted blood at cameramen, and injected a needle into comatosed woman. I would insert a joke here, but Pete already is a walking joke.
