Many women, like me, would have preferred to have given birth to children in our 20s, but given a choice between bearing children in our early 40s, without donor egg, by the way, we decided to bear children later. I would like to reiterate that many tests can quite reliably predict whether we will have chromosomally damaged children before we bring children into the world. From the comments you've posted on this site, I am not convinced that you are well-informed on the topic of infertility. While I am not a reproductive endocrinologist, I have undergone several rounds of IVF and ICSI and studied the field for hundreds of hours over the last few years and still do not know everything about the field. At 41, I am now blessed with a 9-month old son who is NOT chromosomally damaged and 3 months pregnant with a child I conceived naturally. I am very lucky. Regarding the comment, "Why don't you just adopt?" shows a clear lack of understanding of what is involved in adoption. To avoid making a very long post, I recommend you read some adoption websites, talk to some members of a RESOLVE Adoption group, and talk to an adoption agent. Then you might have a clue as to what financially, legally and emotionally is involved in adoption. It's probably easier to run for governor. I hope that my children will grow up to research and think about issues from many angles before they post blogs. They probably will not live long enough to see their own grandchildren. Third, if they're so desperate to have children, why not adopt a healthy child who needs a home?
