Its not really that shocking. She lives in Europe. The drinking age is 16 over there. It only seems crazy to Americans because we live in the least free FREE COUNTRY in the world.

People should just look at her as being a normal teenager doing what they all do where she is from. She is within the drinking age in Europe, and people need to remember that when they see these pictures. She is ALLOWED to do that – she is within her legal right. Just because the US “doesnt allow” drinking under 21 doesnt mean that we should put down the rest of the world for allowing it. Meanwhile, the American role models are at night clubs getting drunk almost every night of the week – Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen twins, mischa barton, the list goes on. not one of them is legal yet all we hear about and read about is their antics in this club or that club etc. So who cares about Emma watson. to all of the european girls out there is acting legally.

Seriously, people need to get a grip, the law states that a person over the age of 14 may drink alcoholic beverages either in their own home or at private functions, including limos. One or two drinks doesn’t mean she has a problem, it means she likes to have a drink once in a while, guess what, not only is it acceptable, its freakin legal! 18 is the age to BUY alcohol, its irrelevant. Okay… I agree with “me”. I’m a Brit, and btw: drinking at ANY age is allowed in your home to my knowledge. Buying is restricted to 18 (not 16) and when you refer to ENGLAND, do not say EUROPE. Yes, we are in europe, but it’s like refering to Brazil as America. Yes, we are in the European contenant, but we have very different laws to Europe (e.g. in many european countires, there are NO alcohol age restrictions, and there is no drinking issues cause everyone accepts it). Sorry to double post… I just thought I should summarise what I said: England is a very different cuture to America. You lot see everything small as big, but over here, we EXPECT teens to drink. i dont know if it has already been said, but in the UK the drinking age is 18, most european countries have 16 for beer and wine and 18 for spirits, however the UK have 18 for everything, and a lovely smoking ban coming in the next months.
