Brokeback not allowed in Prison

Brokeback Mountain

A U.S prison officer was recently reprimanded for showing [tag]Brokeback Mountain[/tag] to the inmates of a Massachusetts prison. A spokeswoman for the Department of Correction in Massachusetts, Diane Wiffin, was quoted as saying,

I want to make it clear, it wasn’t the subject matter – it was the graphic nature of the sexually explicit scenes.

Because two cowboys making love can be very graphic, especially to convicts. Ken Ferullo, vice-president of the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union was quoted as saying,

We don’t need to foster that kind of atmosphere in there, it already exists. These guys are alone together, some of them forever. We’re already running ’Brokeback prison’.

I guess it doesn’t help the convicts. The idea of gay sex in comfy motel room is a lot more appealing than a 8×10 cell. Then again, in jail, its more like rape. Or is sodomy considered a type of “room service”?

My comment is really about the movie: I loved it!
